Helping Women in Recovery Create Long-Term Success Stories
The Reno Recovery Project will be a long term housing option for women leaving any of the area’s treatment centers. The goal of this project is to ensure that women in recovery never have to return to previous, toxic living environments where alcohol and drug abuse remain a part of daily life.
This housing project involves the construction of a 45- unit affordable housing development for low-income individuals. It will be the first of its kind in Northern Nevada. It will be modeled after recovery-focused housing projects in other states and combined with The Empowerment Center’s significant experience with recovery to help women create long-term success stories.
The facility will provide on-site services, including 12-Step meetings, job training, life skills coaching, and related supportive services. It will also provide referrals to local service organizations to help tenants maintain housing and focus on self-sufficiency.
If you want to help the women in your community create a better future and long-term success story, please consider donating to this project.
3.1 million in private funds are needed for site acquisition and land improvements before we can secure public funding. To date, we have received commitments for 2 million. The Empowerment Center is now embarking on a major fundraising campaign to raise the remaining $1.1 million.
